This morning I met with a really good friend Dezire. Don’t worry, she gave me permission to use her name and her photo! And it was so cool. Isn’t it just awesome to get together with good friends where you just talk about whatever comes up and you can freely share your experience and your ideas? Just love it. Anyway that’s not what this video is about.
A good old – not so old – friend
And she’s an old friend – a young old friend, I don’t need to go into that. She’s awesome. I love her so much! During our conversation she shared with me about recently going up “the Haks”. So this is the hakarimatas – it’s a bit of a summit in this area of the world, around Hamilton. It’s actually Ngaruawahia. And it’s lots and lots of stairs I believe. I have to admit I’ve never been up but I would like to do so before I leave Hamilton. Shelly? Caylah? Any chance we could do that next week? Get back to me.
Anyway she had a photo of herself at the top and she’s got her arms up in the air. I’m gonna show you that photo with you now.
Just so truly me
As we talked about it she said “When I saw that photo, I could see my jewellery and I loved it! I thought this is just so truly me”. So she’d made the decision that when she exercises she still wants to wear her jewellery. It’s part of her. It’s part of who she is. And so she does that! And I thought that was just so cool!
Finding and being what is truly you is the goal
I think this is kind of – this is the goal! Figure out who you are! Who is really you. What is really you. Are you someone who exercises in your jewellery? Are you someone who wears their pajamas to the supermarket? Not judging here. Are you someone who likes to colour their hair? or something else. Whatever it is that you are. I want you to do it!
Find yourself by living your awesomeness
I think life is better when you are being who you truly are. Whatever that is. I just wanted to celebrate Dezire and her awesomeness, her absolute awesomeness in being who she really is. Loud and proud. All the way. Exactly what she wants.
That’s kind of what I’m doing. I’m about to leave New Zealand, hopefully for a year, if all goes well, and travel the world. Bit of a nomad. Bit of a wanderer. It’s something that I feel is truly me.
Who or what is the real you?
So who are you? Who’s the real you? It’s a question. An exciting question. If you need help figuring that out, you know where I am! This is Dione from After the Rain Arts Therapy online. See ya!
