Hey I wanted to show you another scrapbook page. This one is called 8 simple rules for making Dione happy. I really liked doing this page because I did some sewing on it with a sewing machine. On the back you can see the sewing.
Using art to strengthen your sense of who you are.
Another thing I really like about this is it’s one of those pages that I kind of used to strengthen my sense of self – my sense who who i am. To be clear on who I am and what works for me and what doesn’t work for me. And so it was 8 rules. 8 things that you could do to make me happy.
Dione’s rules
- Give me lots of time to scrapbook.
- Be open and honest and share your innermost thoughts. Not surprisingly, as a counselor, I am someone who likes the deep and meaningful. I don’t really do small talk very well.
- Help her with the housework.
- Clean up your own mess – kind of goes with the last one.
- Bring chocolate or cheesecake. I was gonna say: I don’t really do cheesecake anymore, but that’s not true. if you bought cheesecake I would eat some.
- Surprise her with a night out together. I do like to go out.
- Go out to dinner with her.
- Oh this one’s really cute. Beg to see her artwork and then oh and aah over every page and every detail. Have a favorite piece and beg for one about you.
What would your 8 simple rules be? So what things do you know that other people could do that would help you feel happy? Now, of course, we don’t rely on other people to make us happy, that’s not what I mean. That’s a whole other conversation we can have. But what things could people do that could help you to be happy?

What eight things could people do that would make you happy? And if you’re an art maker maybe you’ll do a page about that. Maybe it won’t be eight, maybe it’ll be three or four or five or six.
Use your chosen art form to explore what makes you happy
Do yourself art a page about that! Or an art piece. Or whatever it is you do for your art. Write a song. Holy cow that’d be a great song. Write a song mm-hmm Okay. That’s my challenge to you. I’m Dione and in case you’ve forgotten I’m Dione from After the Rain Arts Therapy.
