Mindfulness in Practice – Online group
Become familiar with and practice mindfulness techniques in a safe and comfortable setting
The information on this page is for an ACC sensitive claims approved online group. Your counsellor or psychologist can help you access the group if you have an approved claim.
Mindfulness in Practice will give you regular space and guidance to learn and practice a range of mindfulness and grounding strategies. These strategies may include but are not limited to grounding, guided meditation, visualisation, body scans, breathwork, self massage, mindful movement, mindful drawing and more.
Each week you will be guided through simple, accessible mindfulness practices to ground, soothe and manage emotions in a way that feels good to you. You will be given ample time to explore each new technique offered, with encouragement to experiment and find your own unique way of making the technique work for you. We’ll repeat the skills each week, introducing more each time, so they become very familiar and easy to do. These skills can be used in your daily life both in stressful moments and as a daily practice to support your nervous system to return to ‘normal’ levels over time. At the end of the group there will be time and encouragement to share your experiences with the group if you choose to. This deepens the learning and builds a sense of safety in the group.

What participants have said about this group
Term 2 2025
I really enjoyed the gentle, no pressure approach. Especially when i can be critical about an activity being perfect. Casual, relaxed, calm…. just what i needed. Thank you both
Term 4 2025
I have really enjoyed this group and found it more helpful than I thought I would. I also found that it allowed feelings to come forward that I was scared of as they made me sad but because I had that soft gentle space to feel them in I could feel them enough to feel the sadness and then feel that gratefulness for them.
Term 3 2025
I found this so helpful. I learnt so many new things that I can use in the future and will do an action plan that I can have with me at all times to look at when I get panicked
